Laser Photocoagulation

Laser photocoagulation creates heat burn in the retina with the help of light entering the eye.
Laser photocoagulation is a treatment option for retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, retinal reak, retinal vein occlusion and other ischemic conditions.

Laser photocoagulation procedure:

The process is simple. Drops are first instilled to enlarge the pupil of the eye to which the laser will be applied. Anesthetic drops are then instilled and a special lens is placed in front of the eye. The laser treatment lasts a few minutes and the patient can then return home.
